If you need to enter China for urgent reasons, or it is too late to apply for a visa at the Chinese embassy or visa application centre, our immigration team can help you secure a China port visa.
Also known as visa on arrival (VOA), a port visa allows foreigners to enter China without having to obtain a visa at the Chinese embassy before their departure.
Passport holders of most countries can easily get a VOA except for Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Cameroon, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Israel, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Sudan, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and some Southeast Asian countries.
Foreigners who are in an emergency may also secure a VOA, especially if it’s business-related or a matter of life and death. An invitation letter from an accredited Chinese organization will be required.
You will need the following documents:
Ports in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Xiamen only require a valid passport, while the port in Hainan will also require you to present return ticket and hotel bookings.
